I’m an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Bowie State University, with 12+ years of experience in AI spanning both industry and academia — including software engineering at Samsung and AI research at Intel and Accenture — before and alongside my academic career. That mix keeps me doing the three things I love most: inventing new ideas (research), sharing what I know (teaching), and building things that work (software engineering).

My research asks a simple question: how do we make deep learning models trustworthy enough to deploy where the stakes are real — medical diagnosis, biometric security, safety-critical systems? My answer has centered on Explainable AI (XAI) and Neuro-Symbolic AI: grounding opaque neural networks in the structured knowledge of Knowledge Graphs and the Semantic Web so their decisions can be explained, audited, and trusted. That work spans Deep Learning and Cybersecurity applications and has been cited over 2,500 times (Google Scholar). Before Bowie State, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Hartford, a Postdoctoral Fellow and PhD student at Kansas State University, and a Visiting Faculty member with the U.S. Department of Energy at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
